Water Project Complete!
Construction of Concrete slab
Purchase of 10,000 liter water tank
Water connection
In a normal day at Spirit of Mercy Children’s Home we consume close to 1,000 liters of water through drinking, cooking, laundry, bathing, and cleaning. We are connected to tap water, however we only have access once a week, every Thursday. On Thursday, we then collect the tap water and store it in a 2,300 liter tank. This is rarely lasts us the whole week. To make up for the water shortage, we need to fetch water in a well nearby.
We want to upgrade our ability to store tap water. This includes purchasing a much larger water tank and will need to create a new steel and concrete base to store the tank on top of our current bathroom facility. Lastly we will need to connect a network of popes to run the water to the washroom, kitchen and laundry area.
With your help, this project will be a huge upgrade to the health, hygiene and operational cost of our current setup.
